James Houston Turner delivers a deeply meaningful and inspiring message with “I Am Not A Mistake,” a song about self-discovery, resilience, faith, and embracing who we truly are. Inspired by Olivia’s journey in a movie, the song explores the pain of rejection and the courage to keep pursuing one’s dreams despite criticism and setbacks. Drawing from personal experiences of overcoming hardship while pursuing his own calling as a writer, Turner highlights an important truth: our worth is not determined by other people’s expectations. At its heart, the song celebrates individuality, perseverance, and discovering the person God wants us to become. “I Am Not A Mistake” offers encouragement to anyone who has ever felt out of place, reminding listeners that rejection doesn’t define their story, and sometimes the greatest journeys begin when we choose not to give up.
